Egypt’s Property Tax Exemption Threshold Rises to EGP 8 Million

Egypt’s property tax exemption threshold has risen to EGP 8 million from EGP 2 million, according to Rami Youssef, head of the Real Estate Tax Authority.

The increase raises the property-value ceiling for the exemption, marking a change from the previous threshold.

Youssef also outlined how property declarations would function under the new system, saying a submitted declaration would serve as a property record.

That record could be updated through additions or deletions, allowing changes to be reflected rather than leaving the declaration as a fixed filing.
