Ministry of Supply Confirms Securing Strategic Reserve of Essential Commodities and Expanding Modern Silos

An Egyptian plan to increase storage capacities for wheat and grains and secure strategic commodity stocks for safe and stable periods.
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade confirmed the success of the food security system in maintaining sufficient reserves of basic commodities for periods exceeding six months, thanks to the expansion in building sophisticated field silos and the application of the latest digital control mechanisms for the movement of grain circulation and storage.
Official sources explained that the National Silo Project has radically contributed to reducing the percentage of wheat loss that previously occurred in traditional open-air bunkers, saving billions of pounds annually and enhancing the state's ability to deal with food price fluctuations in international markets.
The state intends to continue establishing new logistical complexes and strategic warehouses in the governorates to secure the flow of goods at fair prices, achieve complete balance and stability in the food supply for citizens, and limit any monopolistic practices that might harm the stability of local markets.
