Pentagon Figures Put Cost of War on Iran Above $47 Billion

The US military has spent more than $47 billion so far on the war on Iran, according to figures released by the US Department of Defense.

The total is more than 25 percent higher than the Pentagon’s previous estimate, issued last July.

The figures cover military spending to date, rather than a projection of the war’s eventual total cost.

The summary of the Pentagon data did not provide a breakdown of the spending or specify what drove the increase from the July estimate.
