Britain Cites ‘Strong Indications’ Linking Iran to Fairford Incident

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Wednesday there were “strong indications” of Iranian involvement in a security incident near Fairford air base.

The incident took place close to the facility used by US forces. Burnham’s remarks linked Iran to the case without presenting its involvement as conclusively established.

Tehran denied any connection to the incident, rejecting the British allegation.

Police said no explosives had been found. That finding did not address the separate question of who was responsible for the incident.
