Yemen’s Presidential Council Chief Announces Military Operations to Restore State Authority

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council chairman, Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, announced on Sunday the start of military operations to reclaim the remaining territory of the republic.

Al-Alimi, who also serves as supreme commander of the armed forces, said the operations were aimed at recovering territory still outside state control.

The announced objectives include restoring state institutions and extending their authority, linking the military effort to the re-establishment of government control.
