Trump Will Not Allow Iran to Acquire Nuclear Weapon, Wright Says

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the United States has decided that Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.

Wright said President Donald Trump would not permit Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon, underscoring the administration’s position on the issue.

The energy secretary framed the stance as a decision Washington had already taken, rather than a policy still under consideration.

The brief remarks provided no details on a timeline or the measures the United States would use to enforce that position.
