Yemen’s Presidential Council Chief Announces ‘Dawn of Yemen’ Operation

Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, has announced the launch of an operation called “Dawn of Yemen,” saying it aims to restore state institutions.

Al-Alimi said the operation seeks to “liberate the capital, Sanaa, and end the Houthi militias’ coup.” His announcement placed the recovery of the capital at the center of its stated objectives.

The council chief framed the operation as an effort to reestablish state authority, linking that goal to ending Houthi control.
