Saudi Passport Authority Urges Citizens to Activate Renewed Passports

Saudi Arabia’s passport authority has called on citizens who have renewed their passports to have their previous passport checked and their new one activated.

The authority said citizens can complete the process at a passport department, one of its branches or an international port of entry or exit.

The guidance addresses whether a renewed Saudi passport requires activation, making clear that citizens should take this step after renewal.

The notice links activation of the new document with inspection of the previous passport. It is directed at citizens renewing their passports, rather than those applying for one for the first time.
