Ghufran Zamel Responds to Ben-Gvir’s Entry Into Husband Hassan Salameh’s Cell

Ghufran Zamel, the wife of prisoner Hassan Salameh, has responded to the scene of Ben-Gvir entering her husband’s cell, saying an image intended as a display of power instead placed Salameh at its centre.

“They wanted a picture to boast about, but you became the one who owned the scene,” Zamel said, addressing her imprisoned husband.

The scene also carried personal significance for Zamel: it was the first image she had seen of her husband in three years.

Zamel said she read other messages in the scene as well. Her response shifted attention from the cell’s intrusion to her husband’s presence, framing him—not those entering his cell—as its defining figure.
