Behind the Screen: Yair Netanyahu’s Role in His Father’s Political Battles

Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, plays an influential role in his father’s political battles despite holding no government or party position.

His role places him outside the formal structures of political power, but not outside the struggles surrounding the prime minister. The distinction highlights how political influence can extend beyond official titles.

The younger Netanyahu’s involvement also brings a family dimension to his father’s political contests. He is not an elected representative or a party official, yet remains a consequential figure in those battles.

At the heart of his role is the gap between formal authority and informal influence: Yair Netanyahu has no official political mandate, but his position alongside his father gives his involvement significance.
