Argentina vs Benin: Friendly billed as Lionel Messi farewell

Argentina face Benin in a friendly described in the match announcement as a farewell occasion for Lionel Messi.

The billing puts Messi at the centre of attention, with the encounter presented as both an international friendly and a send-off for the Argentine star.

However, the brief announcement does not explain what the farewell refers to or confirm whether it marks an end to Messi’s international career.

No score, team line-ups or match events were provided in the available information, so the game’s progress and Messi’s participation cannot yet be confirmed.
