Jordan’s King and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Witness Groundbreaking for Aqaba–Shidiya–Ma’an Railway

Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the laying of the foundation stone for the Aqaba–Shidiya–Ma’an railway project.

The ceremony marked a milestone for the planned rail link connecting the three locations in Jordan.

Sheikh Khaled also serves as chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. He attended the groundbreaking alongside the Jordanian monarch.

The brief announcement did not provide details on the railway’s cost, construction schedule or expected completion date.
