Yemen’s Al-Alimi Announces Military Operations to Regain Control Across Country

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi announced on Sunday the start of military operations aimed at restoring control over all parts of Yemen.

Al-Alimi said the country was moving from a phase of preparation and readiness to what he described as a phase of liberation.

He said the shift followed the exhaustion of all opportunities for de-escalation, presenting the decision as a move beyond efforts to calm the conflict.
