Trump Says Trade Deal With Canada Will Be Reached ‘Soon’

US President Donald Trump said Sunday that a trade agreement with Canada would be reached “soon,” expressing confidence in a deal amid strained trade relations.

Trump made the remarks during a rally in Michigan, where he addressed the prospect of an agreement with the United States’ northern neighbour.

His prediction came after months of severe tension in the trading relationship between the two countries.

While signalling that he expected a deal in the near term, Trump’s remarks did not set out a specific date or describe the terms of a possible agreement.
