Gas Line Explosion Knocks Three Syrian Power Stations Offline

Three power generation stations in Syria went out of service following a gas pipeline explosion, the Syrian electricity company announced.

The blast occurred on a gas line at the Tishreen station, interrupting the fuel supplies needed to operate the plants.

The company identified the affected stations as Deir Ali, Nasiriyah and Tishreen. All three stopped operating after the disruption to gas supplies.

The announcement did not specify the cause of the explosion or provide a timetable for bringing the stations back into service.
