Mysterious Call From Three-Van Group Sparks Security Alert Near RAF Fairford

A mysterious phone call from a passenger in a group of three vans triggered a security incident near RAF Fairford, a British air base used by US forces.

Newly reported details put the call at the start of an incident that prompted a counterterrorism response. The account offers only limited information about the caller or the purpose of the vehicles’ presence near the base.

The incident raised suspicions of a possible link to Iran. Tehran denied any connection, and the available details do not establish Iranian involvement.
