Tanker Hit by Projectile While Leaving Strait of Hormuz

A tanker came under attack as it was leaving the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency.

The vessel was struck by a projectile during its departure from the strait. The strike caused a fire on board.

The blaze was later extinguished, bringing the immediate emergency on the tanker to an end.

The vessel continued its journey after the fire was put out, the agency said.
