France Warns Two-State Solution at Risk, Urges Security Council Action

France’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Jérôme Bonnafont, warned on Monday that the two-state solution could disappear if Gaza remains devastated and the West Bank continues to be fragmented.

His warning linked the future of a political settlement to conditions in both Palestinian territories, highlighting the danger posed by continued destruction in Gaza and fragmentation in the West Bank.

France called for action by the UN Security Council to help secure a political settlement, placing the diplomatic body at the centre of its appeal.
