Earth’s ‘Health Check’ Finds Seven Key Systems Beyond Safe Limits

Pressure on Earth has intensified across seven areas vital to planetary stability, all of which have breached safe limits, according to the Planetary Health Check 2026 report.

The report says the extent of those breaches has reached the highest levels recorded. Its findings point to a worsening strain on the systems that help keep the planet stable.

The assessment presents a crisis that extends beyond rising temperatures. Water, nature, oceans and pollution are also part of the picture, broadening the focus beyond climate change alone.

Taken together, the findings underscore the scale of the challenge: the planet’s health cannot be judged solely by how much it warms, but also by the condition of its other essential systems.
