Lebanon Cannot Wait for Major Regional Settlement, Prime Minister Says

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said waiting for a major regional settlement was not an option for Lebanon, stressing the need for state institutions to serve residents.

Salam said the war had not been Lebanon’s choice but had been imposed on the country.

He emphasized the return of state institutions to work in Nabatieh, saying their role was to support the resilience of its residents.

His remarks linked the resumption of public institutions’ work to the needs of the local population, rather than making it contingent on a broader regional agreement.
