Drone Delivery of Fast Food and Alcohol to Inmate Prompts Canadian Prison Inquiry

Canadian authorities have launched an investigation after an inmate at a high-security prison received fast food and alcoholic drinks delivered by drone.

The delivery reached the inmate’s cell, raising questions about how the aircraft was able to breach security at the facility.

The information provided did not identify the prison or the inmate. It also did not specify when the delivery took place or who operated the drone.

The inquiry follows a breach involving not an attempted escape, but an unusual delivery of food and alcohol into a closely guarded prison.
