Jordan’s King Vows Justice as Karak Church Attack Death Toll Rises to Nine

The death toll from a shooting at a church in Karak, southern Jordan, has risen to nine after gunmen opened fire on mourners gathered in its courtyard for a funeral. Dozens of people were wounded.

Witnesses described moments of terror as the attackers fired on those attending the service. The gathering became the scene of a deadly assault while mourners were paying their respects.

Jordan’s king condemned the attack as a “terrorist act” and pledged that the hand of justice “will reach every terrorist.”
