Musk Signals Openness to Renaming SpaceX AI Unit SpaceXSI

Elon Musk has indicated he is willing to change the name of SpaceX’s artificial intelligence unit from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI, putting a possible rebrand on the agenda.

The proposed switch would retain the SpaceX name while replacing the “AI” ending with “SI.” No explanation for the new abbreviation was provided in the available details.

Musk’s stated openness to the change does not amount to confirmation that the new name has been adopted. No timetable for a renaming was given.

For now, the development concerns the unit’s identity. The available information does not indicate whether a name change would be accompanied by changes to its work or structure.
