UK Prime Minister Says ‘Strong Indications’ Point to Iran in Fairford Air Base Incident

The British prime minister has said there are “strong indications” of Iranian involvement in an incident at Fairford air base.

The remark pointed to suspected Iranian involvement but stopped short of presenting it as an established fact. No details of the evidence behind the assessment were provided in the supplied account.

Iran’s foreign minister responded by saying the British prime minister was “heading in the wrong direction,” challenging the assessment.

The exchange leaves the two governments publicly at odds over the incident. Its nature and the basis for the British claim remain unclear from the information available.
