Ugandan journalist crowned king after struggle for the throne

Kijanangoma, a Ugandan journalist whose broadcasting career spanned more than two decades, has been crowned king following a struggle for the throne.

Before his coronation, Kijanangoma worked as a broadcaster in Uganda, building a professional life in journalism long before taking on a royal role.

His broadcasting career also extended to neighbouring Rwanda. Across the two countries, he spent more than 20 years on air.

His story brings together two distinct chapters: a lengthy career in broadcasting and a contest for the throne that ended with his coronation.
