Alamein Joint Declaration Stresses Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity and Good Neighbourliness

A joint declaration by the four parties in Alamein underscored respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries across the region, alongside the importance of good-neighbourly relations.

The declaration said Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had extended an invitation to Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan was also among those invited by the Egyptian president, according to the declaration.

The statement placed respect for national sovereignty and borders at the centre of its message, pairing those principles with a call to uphold the values of good neighbourliness.
