Egypt’s Senate Bureau: Legal Framework Sets Out Duties as Second Session Begins

With Egypt’s Senate beginning its second legislative session, its internal regulations provide the framework for the duties and powers of the Senate Bureau.

The bureau comprises the Senate speaker and the chamber’s two deputy speakers, bringing the three leadership positions together in one body.

Its responsibilities are defined in the Senate’s internal regulations, issued under Law No. 2 of 2021. These rules establish the scope of the bureau’s authority within the chamber.

The regulations are therefore the reference for identifying which duties fall to the bureau as the Senate proceeds with its second session.
