Agriculture Minister Orders Action to Revive Farming at Ras Sudr Monastery

Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, has instructed the Desert Research Center to take urgent steps to revive existing cultivation at the Monastery of Anba Moussa the Prophet in Ras Sudr.

The monastery is located in South Sinai, where the directive places responsibility for the agricultural revival effort with the center.

Farouk’s instructions focus on restoring the monastery’s existing plantings, rather than establishing a new agricultural site.

The brief announcement did not specify the condition of the cultivated areas, the measures required to restore them or a timetable for the work.
