October War Remains Unforgettable in Egypt’s History, Says Veteran Pilot Mansouri

Major General Ahmed Kamal al-Mansouri, a veteran pilot and one of the heroes of the October War, said the 1973 conflict would remain an unforgettable chapter in Egypt’s history.

Reflecting on the war’s legacy, Mansouri described every grain of sand in Sinai as a witness to the sacrifices made by those who fought.

His remarks linked remembrance of the conflict to the land of Sinai, underscoring its place in the wartime generation’s memories.

Mansouri also said Egyptians celebrate the war’s anniversary twice. The brief account of his comments did not specify the two occasions he was referring to.
