Meta Delays News Content Collection Terms Amid Publisher Pushback

Meta has postponed until November 20 the implementation of terms allowing automated collection of content from news websites, following pressure from publishers and regulators.

The delay marks a temporary retreat in a dispute over rights to journalistic content and the conditions under which technology companies can gather it.

The central issue remains the terms themselves. Postponing their implementation gives publishers more time before they take effect, but does not resolve objections to what they would permit.
