Egypt’s Irrigation Chief Says Water Problems Cannot Wait Until the Next Day

Water management requires prompt action when problems arise, said Ashraf Darwish, head of the Irrigation Sector at Egypt’s Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.

Darwish stressed that continuous monitoring of water levels and flow rates is essential to managing the irrigation network.

He said the nature of water management does not allow problems to be left until the following day, underscoring the need to respond as issues emerge.
