Restoration and Assembly of 16 Floor Pieces Completed for Khufu’s Second Boat

An Egyptian-Japanese team has completed the restoration and assembly of 16 wooden pieces forming the floor of King Khufu’s second boat at the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The work marks progress in the restoration of the ancient vessel, with the completed pieces making up part of its wooden structure.

The milestone comes as the museum makes stages of archaeological and conservation work accessible to visitors, offering a closer look at the process of restoring the boat.

By opening these stages to public view, the museum gives visitors an opportunity to see conservation work in progress alongside the objects it preserves.
