Kasr Al-Ainy Performed 200 Free Robotic Surgeries, 90,000 Operations in a Year, Dean Says

Kasr Al-Ainy hospitals carried out 200 robot-assisted surgeries free of charge, according to Dr. Hossam Salah, dean of Cairo University’s Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine.

Salah said the hospitals performed 90,000 surgical operations over the course of a year, highlighting the scale of their surgical services.

The dean described robotic surgery as an area in which Kasr Al-Ainy stands out. He said it is the only university hospital providing this type of surgery at no cost to patients.

His remarks highlighted both the hospitals’ wider surgical workload and their provision of free robot-assisted procedures.
