Egypt, Senegal Water Ministers Discuss Coordination on African Water Issues

Egyptian Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilam met with Senegalese Water and Sanitation Minister Cheikh Tidiane to discuss strengthening coordination on water issues across Africa.

The talks focused on closer coordination between the two ministers on the continent’s water agenda, alongside their national responsibilities in Egypt and Senegal.

Sweilam also heads the African Water Facility, giving his engagement with the Senegalese minister a wider regional dimension.

Tidiane chairs the African Ministers’ Council on Water. The meeting brought together the leaders of the council and the facility for discussions on African water affairs.
