Quarries Division Denies Discontent Over New Mining Law

Yasser Rashed, head of the Quarries Division at the Building Materials Chamber of the Federation of Industries, has denied that the division is dissatisfied with the new mining law.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has completed preparation of the legislation, according to the summary of his remarks.

Rashed said members of the division want to discuss the draft law. He distinguished that desire for discussion from claims of discontent over the legislation.

His comments did not identify particular provisions that members wish to review or set out any proposed changes to the draft.
