Sisi Announces Preparations and Online Platform for Egypt Forum 2026

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has announced the launch of preparatory sessions and an electronic platform for Egypt Forum 2026, putting national participation in decision-making at the heart of the initiative.

The announcement brings together two elements of the forum’s preparations: preliminary discussions and a digital platform. Together, they provide the starting point for an initiative framed around participation in national affairs.

The significance of the launch lies in the question it raises about how participation can help shape decisions, rather than simply follow them. Translating that ambition into practice will be an important measure of the forum’s role.

The brief announcement did not detail the sessions’ timetable, the platform’s operation or how contributions would feed into decision-making. Those details will be central to understanding how Egypt Forum 2026 develops beyond its launch.
