Khaled Salah Questions Al-Gama’a Al-Islamiyya’s Role in Supporting Muslim Brotherhood

Egyptian writer Khaled Salah has criticised Al-Gama’a Al-Islamiyya and its political wing, the Building and Development Party, over their role in supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

In a commentary titled “One Word,” Salah expressed deep unease at the position the group and its party have accepted, describing their role as regrettable.

His criticism centred on the contrast between that support and Al-Gama’a Al-Islamiyya’s distinct ideological origins. He noted that the group had developed an approach separate from the Brotherhood’s since the 1970s.
