Joint Security Campaign Targets Waste Scavenging in Central Alexandria

An expanded security campaign was carried out in Alexandria’s Central District to curb waste scavenging in the area.

The operation was conducted in cooperation with the Alexandria Security Directorate, bringing the district into a joint effort with local security authorities.

The directorate is headed by Major General Hatem El Haddad, assistant interior minister and Alexandria’s security director.

The campaign focused on people who rummage through rubbish for salvageable materials. No details were provided on arrests or other enforcement outcomes.
