Irrigation Chief Flags Critical Points in Egypt’s Water Network

Areas south of El Alamein, El Seyouf and the far ends of irrigation networks in Suez and Port Said are critical points requiring attention, according to Ashraf Darwish, head of the Irrigation Sector at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.

Darwish said the ends of irrigation networks are among the locations most in need of monitoring during the season of peak water demand.

His remarks highlighted the importance of tracking conditions at the far reaches of the network, particularly when irrigation needs are at their highest.

The locations he identified put a focus on several parts of the system where close follow-up is especially important during this period.
