US and China Discuss Reciprocal Visits to Nuclear Sites

The United States and China are discussing the possibility of reciprocal visits to nuclear sites, according to information attributed Tuesday to sources familiar with the matter.

The exchanges under consideration would involve visits to facilities in both countries. The available details do not identify which sites might be included.

No timetable or arrangements for the proposed visits were provided in the brief account of the discussions.

The talks concern a possible initiative, rather than a confirmed programme of visits. Whether the two sides will reach an agreement remains unclear.
