Trump Calls Iran Ceasefire a ‘Waste of Time’

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that a short-term ceasefire agreement his administration reached with Iran last June had been a “waste of time.”

The agreement temporarily halted hostilities between the United States and Iran. Trump’s remarks focused on his dissatisfaction with that arrangement.

He said he had not supported the ceasefire from the outset, distancing himself from an agreement negotiated by his own administration.

His comments amounted to a blunt retrospective criticism of the June deal, pairing doubts about its value with his stated opposition to it from the beginning.
