Saudi Defence Spokesman Says Operational Support for Yemen’s Government Continues

Saudi Defence Ministry spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki said full operational support for Yemen’s armed forces would continue, reaffirming Saudi backing for the country’s legitimate government.

Al-Maliki said Saudi Arabia would maintain its support for both the Yemeni government and the Yemeni people.

He described the goals of that support as ending the coup and restoring the Yemeni state and its national institutions.

The spokesman linked those objectives to building Yemen’s future, placing the restoration of state institutions at the centre of the commitment he outlined.
