Turkey Outlines Expected Military Support for Saudi Arabia Against Houthis

Turkey on Friday outlined the military support it is expected to provide to Saudi Arabia in confronting Yemen’s Houthi group.

The anticipated assistance falls under the Mecca joint defence agreement concluded with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, according to the Turkish announcement.

The statement linked the prospective support to the kingdom’s confrontation with the Houthis, placing it within the framework of the three-country defence pact.

The available summary of the announcement did not specify what equipment or assistance Turkey could provide, when support might begin or whether any deployment was planned.
