Drone Boat Attack Sets Oil Tanker Ablaze in Black Sea

The crew of a Liberian-flagged oil tanker was rescued after a drone boat attack sparked a fire aboard the vessel off Russia’s Black Sea coast, Russia’s Transport Ministry said Tuesday.

The ministry said the tanker caught fire following the attack. Its announcement confirmed the crew’s rescue but did not specify whether anyone was injured.

The brief statement did not identify the tanker or give the precise location of the incident along the Russian coast.

No details were provided about who was responsible for the attack, the extent of the damage or whether the fire had been extinguished.
