Third US Aircraft Carrier Heads to Middle East, Report Says

The United States has sent the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and its battle group toward the Middle East, according to a press report.

The deployment would bring a third American aircraft carrier to the region. The report attributed the move to the US department overseeing military operations.

It comes as President Donald Trump signals that he could intensify bombing against Iran after the midterm elections.

The reported carrier movement places the naval deployment against the backdrop of Trump’s threats, though the summary provided no details on the group’s mission or arrival date.
