Iran Reviews US Response as Washington Maintains Pressure

Iran is studying the US response to its proposal, the country’s deputy foreign minister said, as Washington continues to apply diplomatic and military pressure on Tehran.

The remarks indicate that Iran’s assessment is still under way. The summary provided no details of the American response or the terms of the Iranian proposal.

Separately, the US energy secretary said supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz had continued to rise in recent weeks. No figures were given for the increase.

The developments put diplomatic exchanges and energy flows through the strategic waterway in focus, with Tehran yet to announce a decision on the US response.
