Cucurella Stirs Ballon d’Or Debate With No Mention of Mbappe or Yamal

Spain international Cucurella has added a fresh twist to the Ballon d’Or debate with a surprise statement that left out Mbappe and Yamal.

His intervention comes as competition intensifies among the leading contenders, with public comments and personal preferences becoming part of the discussion surrounding the award.

The omission of Mbappe and Yamal is the central talking point. However, the available summary does not include Cucurella’s exact words or identify any player he backed instead.

That leaves the reasoning behind his comments unclear. Without the full remarks, it is not possible to establish whether he was dismissing either player’s chances or simply expressing a different preference.

For now, Cucurella’s statement adds another point of debate to a Ballon d’Or race increasingly shaped by the positions taken by figures within the game.
