Israel Was Ready to Shoot Down Flydubai Plane, Israeli Sources Say

Israel was prepared to shoot down a Flydubai aircraft that headed toward Saudi Arabia for an emergency landing, according to Israeli sources.

The sources said Israeli fighter jets had already taken off before receiving orders to return. The recall came after the passenger aircraft turned toward Saudi territory.

Saudi Arabia had also dispatched fighter jets at the time, the sources added. The account did not specify how close either country’s military aircraft came to the Flydubai plane.

The information provided did not explain the emergency or why Israel was reportedly prepared to bring down the aircraft. It also offered no details on the flight’s route or the outcome of the attempted landing.
