Sisi: Ethiopia’s Dam Will Not Come at the Expense of Egypt’s Existence

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said Tuesday that the dispute over Ethiopia’s dam would not be allowed to come at the expense of Egypt’s existence or its people.

Sisi stressed that diplomacy and peaceful solutions remain the priority in addressing the dam issue.

His remarks coupled that emphasis on a peaceful approach with a firm assertion that Egypt’s interests and its people must be protected.

Alongside its diplomatic efforts, Cairo is working to increase its water resources, pursuing domestic measures in parallel with efforts to resolve the dispute.
