Agriculture Minister Orders Action to Revive Farming at Ras Sudr Monastery

Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, has instructed the Desert Research Center to take urgent steps to revive existing cultivation at the Monastery of Saint Moses the Prophet in Ras Sudr.

The monastery is located in South Sinai, where the minister’s directive places responsibility for the agricultural revival effort with the center.

Farouk called for the necessary measures to be taken swiftly. The assignment concerns restoring cultivation already present at the monastery, rather than establishing a new agricultural site.

No details were provided on the condition of the cultivated areas, the crops involved or the measures planned. A timetable for the work was also not specified.
